About Us:

I was raised in the rural areas of Upstate New York and worked on a few farms growing up.
I was unaware of the grooming needs that most pets have, but I always had great compassion for the animals I’ve taken care of.
I was gifted with a short haired cat named Ursula and quickly learned how to care for her properly.
She had dandruff that kept coming back, but persistence eventually cleaned her fur!
A few years later I was working long shifts at a job for 12 hours (sometimes longer) and I felt awful leaving Ursula home waiting for my return. I decided to do some research before adopting to see what cats are most compatible, loving, and low maintenance. This led me to adopt a gorgeous Ragdoll kitten who I named LAVITZ the Knight.
LAVITZ became the main inspiration for Curls Cats and Kittens after I called many of the local Dog Groomers and they did not want anything to do with grooming a long hair cat. This is when I realized the immediate need for a Cat Grooming service in the Mohawk Valley.

In February of 2024 I discovered a professional cat grooming course hosted by The National Cat Groomers Institute and enrolled myself into their course to become a Certified Feline Master Groomer of which I am currently still undertaking, but I can’t finish it without your help!
I also decided it would be in our best interest to get certified with The American Red Cross for Cat and Dog First Aid.
